We only had two days in Mexico because we were on a cruise. Our ports were Progresso and Cozumel.

The first port was in Progresso, Mexico. Here we took a 2hr (4 round trip) bus ride to Chichen Itza. The Mayan temple and archaeological site is one of the 7 Wonders of the World. This stop was the reason we planned this specific cruise and it was totally worth it (though I could’ve spent more time there). It was incredible learning about how the Mayan somehow constructed this site that is so perfectly predicting astrological events. Fascinating, confusing, amazing. Additionally, the kids enjoyed standing in front of a certain part of it where if you clap, it sounds like a bird echoing back. Afterward, we had a delicious lunch and then went for a dip in a cenote (which is an underground water hole/cave). Being in the cenote was like being in a movie…gorgeous, beautiful, adventurous.

The second port adventure was in Cozumel with a dolphin swim through Dolphinaris.
